Hillsboro Ballpark, 4460 NE Century Blvd, Hillsboro, OR 97124. Home of the Portland Cascade (AUSL) and the Hillsboro Hops (MiLB). The brand-new stadium opened in April 2026 with 6,000 seats for games and up to 7,000 for concerts. This is not the old Ron Tonkin Field. It's a ground-up rebuild.

Hillsboro is about 20 miles west of downtown Portland. It's suburban, it's easy, and on a summer evening it's one of the best places to watch live sports in Oregon.

Getting There

Driving is the easiest option. 25 minutes from downtown Portland via US-26 West. Free parking on-site. No stress, no cost, no traffic (unless you're coming from downtown during rush hour, leave by 5:30).

MAX Blue Line runs from downtown Portland to Orenco Station in about 45 minutes. From there, the Hops/Cascade run a free shuttle to the ballpark every 15 minutes, starting 2 hours before first pitch and running until 1 hour after the final out. The ballpark is not walking distance from the MAX station. Take the shuttle.

Rideshare: Uber/Lyft work fine. Drop-off is on NE Century Blvd. Expect surge pricing right after the game. Walk to Orenco Station and order from there for a cheaper ride, or grab dinner nearby and wait it out.

Parking

Free on-site parking. This is Hillsboro, not downtown Portland. You'll find a spot. Arrive 30-45 minutes before first pitch if you want to be close. Tailgating culture is still developing. It's an inaugural season, so the traditions are being built in real time.

Food and Drink

The new ballpark has expanded concession options over the old stadium. Expect the standard ballpark lineup (hot dogs, nachos, burgers, craft beer) plus local vendors. Check theausl.com and the ballpark's official channels for the current food and vendor lineup.

Pre-game near the ballpark: The Orenco Station area has restaurants within walking distance of the MAX stop: Orenco Tap House (craft beer, pub food), Biscuits Cafe (if you're arriving early), and several spots along NE Cornell Rd.

Pro tip: Ballpark food is fine, but if you want a real meal, eat before you arrive. The Orenco area has better options than what you'll find inside.

What to Expect

This is the AUSL's inaugural season. Six teams, 25 games each, MLB-backed, ESPN/ABC broadcasts. The Portland Cascade are led by head coach Tairia Flowers (two-time Olympic medalist) and feature Oregon standout Paige Sinicki on the roster.

Pro softball is fast, intense, and shorter than baseball. Games typically run 2-2.5 hours. The field is smaller. The pitching is 43 feet away, not 60. The ball moves differently. If you've never watched high-level softball live, the speed of the game will surprise you.

The vibe is going to be intimate. 6,000 seats means you're close to the action from anywhere. This isn't a cavernous arena. It's a summer-evening-in-the-suburbs experience with cold beer, warm air, and professional athletes 50 feet away.

Bag Policy

The Hillsboro Hops previously allowed bags up to 16"x16"x8" at the ballpark. A small clear bag is the safe choice. Check theausl.com for the current bag policy before you go.

Accessibility

The new Hillsboro Ballpark is ADA-compliant with wheelchair-accessible seating, accessible restrooms, and accessible parking near the main entrance. For specific needs, contact the ballpark box office in advance.

Away Fans

No designated away section. This is a 6,000-seat ballpark in its first season. Sit anywhere, wear your colors. The culture is being built from scratch. You're part of that whether you're rooting for the Cascade or against them.
